Let's make this practice history!
The Law Was Meant to Protect Them
Every night in small slaughterhouses across Vietnam, tens of thousands of pigs are killed in ways that defy both compassion and the law. Metal hooks are forced through their mouths as they are dragged across cold concrete floors. Their eyes widen in terror as they are secured in metal restraints, still fully conscious, without any stunning or pain relief. Then, a cold blade cuts through their throats. They struggle, scream, and bleed out for over a minute while others stand by, watching in fear. This is not an isolated case. It is the silent reality for millions.
Help End Their Suffering
Animal Husbandry Law stipulates: “Slaughterhouses must limit causing fear and pain to animals; must not beat or torture; must have measures to induce unconsciousness before slaughter and must not let animals witness the slaughter of their own kind.” An estimated 80% of pigs (50 million/year) are brutally slaughtered in a similar way. This situation raises many concerns about animal welfare and a lack of law enforcement.
