Mother cow escaped from the slaughterhouse to save her calf

Written by Ngọc Chi Lê - 5 minutes reading

A mother can go to any length to protect her child, even if it means facing the most miserable and cruel situations imaginable. Just like humans, mothers of the animal world can also do extraordinary things to help their children have a brighter future.

Cows are famous for being extremely attentive mothers, with a habit of always being attached to their babies, and often crying for days after being separated from their calves. Unfortunately, today's cows have to endure endless artificial insemination, painful milking machines, and having their babies taken away from them. Those calves will eventually end their short lives on veal farms.

But motherly love is a very strong thing, and last Thursday, a female cow proved just how strong that feeling is.

Briana is a pregnant cow on her way to the slaughterhouse. The meat dealer who controlled her life could have neither known nor cared about Briana's pregnancy when they sent her and her unborn child on the long highway to the slaughterhouse. died a most pitiful death. Unable to accept her fate, a cow weighing nearly half a ton broke the door of a cattle truck on Route 80 in New Jersey last Thursday, and jumped out of the vehicle without being detected. Briana was rescued from the side of the road by state police. She was then sent to Skylands Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, where she gave birth to a male calf named Winter on Saturday.

Briana's story is truly touching and inspiring. Even though millions of livestock still live in fear and pain for human satisfaction, the bond between mother and child is still enough to overcome all odds to overcome it. As for Briana and Winter, mother and daughter are now happy, safe, and most importantly, together.
